1. THESE TERMS
1.1 These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of services (“Services”) by CKE Genetic Services Ltd, trading as CKE Genetics (“we”, “us”, “our”).
1.2 Our Services may be delivered remotely (including by video consultation) and, where applicable, at third-party clinical sites (“Sites”) by our clinical staff and associates (“Staff”).
1.3 Please read these Terms carefully before booking. In particular, please review section 11 (Cancellations and Refunds) and section 14 (Limitation of Liability).
1.4 By booking our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.5 No emergency care
We do not provide emergency or urgent medical services.
If you require urgent medical assistance, contact your GP, NHS 111, or call 999.

3. OUR CONTRACT WITH YOU
3.1 Bookings are made via our website and booking platform.
3.2 A contract is formed when we confirm your appointment by email or within the booking system.
3.3 We may decline a booking where necessary, including due to availability or clinical considerations. In such cases, no charge will be made.
3.4 Services are primarily offered to UK-based patients. International services may be provided where appropriate and subject to additional terms.
4. OUR SERVICES
4.1 Our Services may include:
- Genetic counselling (pre- and post-test)
- Genetic risk assessment and family history review
- Coordination of genetic testing with accredited laboratories
- Review and communication of results
- Clinical summary reports
- Educational and advisory services
4.2 Full details of Services are available on our website and may be updated from time to time.
4.3 Our Staff provide information and guidance. You remain responsible for decisions regarding testing and healthcare.
4.4 We may decline or modify Services where, in our clinical judgement, they are not appropriate.
4.5 Some Services involve third parties, including laboratories.
4.6 No guarantees
We do not guarantee that any Service or genetic test will result in a diagnosis, outcome, or actionable finding.
5. APPOINTMENTS
5.1 Appointments are delivered remotely or, where applicable, in person.
5.2 You are responsible for ensuring availability, appropriate technology, and a private setting.
5.3 If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, the appointment may be shortened or treated as missed.
5.4 We may request identification where necessary.
6. GENETIC TESTING AND LABORATORIES
6.1 Genetic testing is performed by independent, internationally accredited laboratories. These laboratories are solely responsible for analysis and reporting.
6.2 Testing is arranged only following appropriate counselling and consent.
6.3 Test kits
a) Test kits may be dispatched to you following payment
b) Once dispatched, test kits are non-refundable
6.4 Samples
a) You are responsible for correct sample collection
b) You are responsible for sending samples as instructed
c) We are not responsible for delays, loss, or damage once dispatched
6.5 Results
a) Results are issued by the laboratory
b) Results are reviewed by our clinical team
c) Results are communicated to you with appropriate counselling
6.6 Turnaround times
All timeframes are estimates. We are not responsible for delays outside our control.
7. CHILDREN AND CAPACITY
7.1 Services may be provided to adults and minors.
7.2 For individuals under 18, consent must be provided by a parent or legal guardian.
7.3 Additional safeguards may apply where capacity is uncertain.
8. PROVIDING THE SERVICES
8.1 Services will be provided at the agreed time.
8.2 We are not responsible for delays outside our control.
8.3 You must provide accurate and complete information.
8.4 Reports are for your personal use and may be shared with your healthcare providers.
9. PRICE AND PAYMENT
9.1 Prices are listed on our website.
9.2 Counselling fees are payable at booking.
9.3 Testing fees are payable in advance before testing is arranged.
9.4 Testing fees may become non-refundable once testing is initiated or kits dispatched.
10. YOUR RIGHTS TO END THE CONTRACT
You may cancel where:
- we make a material error
- there is a significant delay
- we fail to provide the agreed Service
Refunds will reflect Services not yet delivered.
11. CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
11.1 Counselling appointments
- More than 48 hours’ notice: full refund
- 24 to 48 hours’ notice: 50% refund
- Less than 24 hours or non-attendance: no refund
11.2 Testing
- No refunds once a test kit has been dispatched
- No refunds once testing has beeninitiated or samples received
- No refunds once results have been issued
11.3 Combined services
Refunds depend on the stage reached. Counselling may be refundable. Testing is not refundable once initiated.
11.4 We may, at our discretion, consider exceptional circumstances.
12. OUR RIGHTS TO CANCEL
We may cancel Services where:
- payment is not received
- required information is not provided
- appointments are missed
- behaviour is inappropriate
Refunds will exclude non-recoverable costs.

Complaints should be submitted to info@ckegenetics.co.uk.
We will handle complaints in line with our Complaints Policy.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
14.1 We provide Services with reasonable care and skill.
14.2 We are not liable for:
- inaccurate information provided by you
- failure to follow instructions
- third-party services
- delays outside our control
- decisions made based on results
14.3 Genetic testing involves uncertainty and may not provide definitive outcomes.
14.4 We are not responsible for third-party laboratories or services.
14.5 Nothing excludes liability where unlawful to do so.
14.6 We are not liable for business or financial losses.
15. DATA PROTECTION
15.1 We process personal and health data in accordance with UK data protection law.
15.2 Data is stored securely within our clinical systems.
15.3 Data is shared only where necessary and with appropriate safeguards.

16. GENERAL
16.1 We may update these Terms from time to time.
16.2 This contract is between you and us only.
16.3 If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains in force.
